PSHE / RSE
PSHE/RSE INTENT statement
At Little Horsted CE Primary School, our PSHE curriculum is guided by our vision to Live, Love, Learn in the Light of the Lord and rooted in the values of kindness, love, respect, aspiration, resilience and community.
Our intent is that all children leave Little Horsted equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to play an active, positive and responsible role in today’s diverse society.
Through a curriculum that reflects statutory PSHE and RSE guidance, pupils develop emotional literacy, learn to care for their mental and physical wellbeing, and build the resilience needed to face challenges with confidence. We nurture aspiration by helping children believe in themselves and recognise that their actions and choices shape their futures. Our teaching promotes kindness and respect in relationships, ensuring pupils understand how to stay safe, form healthy connections and value difference. A strong sense of community is fostered as pupils learn how to contribute positively to school life and the wider world. At the heart of our PSHE provision is a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment in which children can truly Live, Love and Learn in the Light of the Lord as compassionate, confident and well‑rounded individuals.
