Design & Technology

Design Technology INTENT statement

At Little Horsted CE Primary School, our Design and Technology curriculum is guided by our vision to Live, Love, Learn in the Light of the Lord and shaped by the values of kindness, love, respect, aspiration, resilience and community.
We believe it is vital to nurture creativity and innovation by helping children explore the designed and made world around them. Through imaginative, purposeful projects, pupils learn to design and create functional products that solve real problems, showing aspiration as they develop new ideas and resilience as they test, refine and improve their work. Children learn to work collaboratively with kindness and respect, valuing one another’s contributions and celebrating their shared achievements as a community of young designers.
Our curriculum also teaches children to prepare simple dishes and understand nutrition, helping them make healthy, informed choices. Overall, our intent is to inspire thoughtful, capable and creative learners who can apply their skills confidently as they Live, Love and Learn in the Light of the Lord.
