Computing
Computing Intent statement
At Little Horsted CE Primary School, our Computing curriculum is guided by our vision to Live, Love, Learn in the Light of the Lord, equipping children with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to thrive in an ever‑evolving digital world.
Through a carefully sequenced progression of learning using Teach Computing, pupils develop secure understanding of computing systems, networks, programming, digital media and data handling, growing as both imaginative creators and logical problem‑solvers.
Our school values shape the way Computing is taught: kindness and love are shown as children collaborate, support one another and communicate respectfully online; respect underpins safe, responsible digital behaviour and thoughtful use of technology; community is strengthened as pupils work together on shared projects and use technology to connect learning across the curriculum; aspiration encourages them to design increasingly complex programs and digital content; and resilience is fostered as they debug code, refine ideas and persevere through challenges. Through meaningful, real‑world tasks - such as creating animations, building 3D models or designing quizzes - children learn to use technology confidently as both consumers and creators, developing the digital literacy needed to live, love and learn in the Light of the Lord as responsible, innovative citizens of the future.
